The KNAW programme ‘De Maakbaarheid van de Kennissamenleving’ (The engineerability of the knowledge society) aims to bring economists, social scientists, historians, artists, politicians and others together in discussing the knowledge society. During three consecutive years, the programme will be carved out. The themes are the city as hub of knowledge (2016), the role of art in knowledge production and education (2017) and the ideal of openness (2018). Each spring, four events will be organised in the spirit of these themes.
